Also, what could be the effect if some consecutive changes in the meta are not well balanced? Could that make people stop playing?

About the meta changes, the company plan each change very carefully, the flexibility I mention above exists but is more related to the board game balance per se than to improving what is on stock (although sometimes what is not being sold is because is not really worth to have it into the armies). Those changes happen 2-4x per year and the variations sometimes are not as significant as initially may seem to general customers but they are to pro players.
